This morning's walk: Binsey

Skiddaw with its top in the cloud from the foot of Binsey ..

.. but promising skies to the west

zooming in on Dash Falls

the cloud clearing from Skiddaw with Longside Edge and Ullock Pike to its right

Binsey summit with Criffel between the cairn and trig point

Bassenthwaite Lake from Binsey summit

on Binsey summit ridge looking to Skiddaw

Criffel and the Solway from some of the old cairns and shelters on Binsey summit

another shot north along the windswept ridge as the sun comes out

Ireby from Binsey

looking north to Criffel from the northern cairn

Over Water and some of the Back of Skiddaw fells from the descent path

looking east to Aughertree Fell from the descent path ..

.. and west to cloud coming in over Bass Lake and the northwestern fells

lower down the path Dash Falls are now hard to spot looking into the sun

still sunshine and blue skies to the east ..

.. with the promised rain heading in from the west

looking back north towards the summit the prevailing wind direction is obvious

the same tree looking east - the green hill is the other Latrigg

Binsey from the foot of Bass Lake - still in sun but not for long
